Personal injuries * – fast food restaurants

If you have sustained a personal injury * in a fast food restaurant such  or indeed a café or coffee shop you may be entitled to compensation for that personal injury*.

You may suffer at any personal injury* falling down a stairs, slipping on a wet floor or indeed from an injury due to food or drinks consumed by you or another on the premises.

Recently a young girl was awarded €14,000 in compensation when she was burnt by hot tea in Burger King. The Circuit Court heard that the girl suffered a second degree burn to her shoulder after a cup of hot tea was spilled on her in the fast food restaurant by a customer who had bumped into her. The case was settled with Burger King.

A further recent case involved a claim against Starbucks when a man suffered personal injury* after catching his arm on a coat hanger. The hanger was sharp and unprotected and caused him to suffer a 13cm laceration to his arm.  Although Starbucks initially denied liability, the case later settled out of court for an undisclosed sum.
