Recently a young girl was awarded €14,000 in compensation when she was burnt by hot tea in Burger King. The case was settled with Burger King.
A further recent case involved a claim against Starbucks when a man suffered personal injury* after catching his arm on a coat hanger. The hanger was sharp and unprotected and caused him to suffer a 13cm laceration to his arm. Although Starbucks initially denied liability, the case later settled out of court for an undisclosed sum.
